With how unpredictable Iowa's weather can be it is always nice to have a couple of events to use as backups to trick or treating. We of course have the awesome Medical Partners Children's Halloween Party on October 25th at the Coralville Library (9:30). It is going to be great! Food, fun, games, and friends. And if you are looking for another backup The Iowa City Mom's Blog is hosting their annual Spooktacular Halloween Bash Friday, October 24th from 6:00 - 8:00 at the South Slope Community Center. You must purchase tickets in advance and tickets are $3 each for each child over 1 year. (Adults do not need a ticket) There will be indoor trick-or-treating, activities, and snacks. It should be a lot of fun!
Welcome to fall ya'll! The leaves are giving us a beautiful show with their changing colors. The air is turning crisp. And Halloween is on the way! I don't know about the other mom's in the group, but my kids are getting so excited about dressing up and trick or treating. I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty excited too. I mean come on, I get to send my little people out there to collect candy, that I get to "check" (AKA eat). Growing up my Mom was really into Halloween and handmade unique costumes for us kids. One of my favorites was CatWoman sewn out of black trash bag type material. I felt invincible that Halloween and still use the mask every few years for parties or passing out candy.

My friends and I went as three blind mice once. The best part was we could not think of anything to be so about a half an hour before the Halloween party started and we ran down the street to a little store to get anything - we got gray shirts , black pants, some wooden dowels sunglasses and ears and threw it on. People thought it was such a great idea and we were laughing because we literally just threw it together!!

Chris and I were a couple from the roaring twenties one year. So far that has been my favorite. We'll see how this year is... Of course my girls want to be Elsa and Anna (like probably every other little girl around) and they've convinced me to be a troll. We'll see if I can pull it off.

Elsa as Elsa, of course! Elsa has her heart set on being "her" princess (only because that is what her cousin is dressing up as)! But, she does look like young Princess Elsa and thus, it's a pretty adorable costume!
